A collaboration shaped by comfort, transformation, and honest design
At Carrara, we believe that beauty is not an ornament, but a way of being. The objects in our space are not just for display — they are lived with, touched, changed by time and the people who inhabit the room. Design, for us, must serve life. And life is rarely static.
That’s why our collaboration with OMHU felt inevitable. Rooted in the Danish tradition of functional minimalism, OMHU designs furniture that adapts to reality — without ever compromising on form. When their TEDDY CORNER CLOSED sofa arrived in our studio in a warm cream white, it immediately felt like home.
Furniture That Grows With You
The TEDDY CORNER CLOSED is not just a sofa. It’s a shape-shifter — a quiet enabler of moments, moods, and rhythms. Formed by seamlessly joining two TEDDY sofas with a secure Velcro connection, it becomes a corner sanctuary: wide enough for reading, resting, gathering. And when unfolded, it reveals its secret — an expansive floor mattress for play, conversation, or rest. A soft landscape where our toddler Stefan builds his little worlds, and where our dog Rafael finds his sunlit corner.
In a space like ours — filled with art, light, and layered textures — this piece doesn’t demand attention. It earns it. It doesn’t just fit our life — it holds it.
Aesthetics in Motion
Carrara is a studio of shifting forms and evolving rituals. We sculpt. We photograph. We live. Our space is both sanctuary and workspace, a home and a gallery. The TEDDY sofa adapts to these blurred lines effortlessly. Its proportions are generous, yet its silhouette remains minimal — soft curves, thoughtful tailoring, and a surface that invites touch without demanding perfection.
The cream white shade brought a quiet luminosity into the room, while the additional cover sets and pillows in soft brown and sand tones allowed us to reflect the changing mood of the space. These modular layers speak to our love for transformation — subtle seasonal shifts, light that changes by hour, and objects that respond to it all.
A Philosophy Shared
OMHU’s values mirror our own. They speak of slowness, versatility, and durability — a kind of quiet resistance to overconsumption and trend-based living. Their TEDDY sofa is made not only to last, but to evolve with the people who use it. It welcomes the unpredictable beauty of daily life — spilled tea, laughter, fatigue, silence. It doesn’t ask for perfection. It simply offers presence.
At Carrara Studio, we always return to the same idea: design is a gesture of care. The care we extend to ourselves, our guests, our children, our animals. The TEDDY sofa embodies this perfectly. It is generous without excess, flexible without fragility, thoughtful without pretense.
A Living Sculpture
Much like our own sculptural pieces, OMHU’s sofa is an object of purpose. But more than that — it is a frame for moments. A place to slow down, stretch out, fall asleep beside the ones you love. A soft architecture for everything unscripted.
We are grateful for this synergy. For a collaboration that doesn’t just fill a corner of our studio — but expands the way we inhabit it.
